The 6th biennial International Indigenous Development Research Conference 2014 was held in Auckland on 25-28 November 2014, hosted by Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga, New Zealand’s Māori Centre of Research Excellence.
The proceedings are free to download from the Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga website , and include 20 peer reviewed papers from around the world.
We were fortunate to have an amazing array of invited keynote speakers at the conference, covering topics related to the themes and Transformation through Indigenous Research Excellence.
All keynotes are published on our Media Centre and available to view, recap and share with those that were unable to attend the 6th Biennial Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga Conference.
In March 2015 the conference proceedings will be published and available freely online - this will include papers on a number of presentations given during the conference.
The day has finally arrived! Tomorrow Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (NPM), New Zealand's Māori Centre of Research Excellence, will open its 6th Biennial International Indigenous Development Research Conference in Auckland at the Business School and Waipapa Marae.

The Tee-Shirt design is by Māori artist Dan Mace and the shirts are modeled by Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga's Dr Dan Hikuroa and Jane Rangiwahia.

The closing date for Early-bird rates has been extended to midnight Wednesday 17 September 2014 (NZ time) and standard rates will apply after that date. On-line registration closes.Sunday 16 November 2014 at midnight (NZ time). All prices are in NZ Dollars and include GST (Goods and Services Tax) of 15%. Abstract submission for oral and poster presentations is now closed. Over 200 submissions were received and reviewed by the Abstracts Committee. The abstracts were high quality, covering all conference themes and from over 20 countries. The conference is one you won’t want to miss.
Presenters have been advised of their abstract outcome and are invited to submit a paper to the conference proceedings by the 1st October 2014.

To give an oral presentation or present a poster at the conference a 200 word abstract aligning with the conference themes and critical aspects must be submitted online. Standard oral presentations will be 20 minutes in length, plus 5 minutes for questions. All presentations will be assigned to a session by theme. Poster presentations will be displayed throughout the conference duration with scheduled times for authors to be at their posters for any discussion with or question by conference delegates. Please ensure that your presentation or poster fits directly with the conference themes.
